I hope your dream was not prophetic. It makes me think of what it would look like to see all the animals we have driven to extinction marching off, in one huge unbroken line.

:-(

Your dream as much sadder than mine.

<<and saw an endless flock of white Snow geese streaming from north to south in an undulating line a few geese wide -- moving along together but not in tight formation. There were thousands upon thousands and I could not see the beginning nor the end of the flock as they went on and on for miles. They were entirely silent. I felt a great sadness inside...>>

No reason to feel sad, the "white geese" are snows and blues and they do travel in huge flocks. They stay pretty quiet until they start landing. Then the noise will blow your ears out. I spent a day in South Dakota where no matter what part of the sky I looked at, no matter when, it was full of white geese migrating. Awesome.

My dream had black birds and I was awake. Very odd. This morning, as we were bustling around preparing for our Tea party, I heard a noise from outside that I couldn't identify. It was an errie sound. I went out and in the bare trees were black birds, smaller than crows. Every branch of every tree was full and they were fluttering their wings which was making the buzzing/humming/other worldly sound. It was such an amazing sight that I ran inside and got my dad to come see. We went out and... nothing but bare branches and not a bird in the sky. I said... uhmmm, nevermind. I was too busy to ponder the moment, but after this dreamtime talk, I'm wondering about it. oh, and they were all looking in the same direction, down to the porch where I stood. It was a perfect unison of their eyes and movement of their wings, but they felt still at the same time. Have you ever had that frozen feeling, where time stops or is out of time for a split frame?

From the Dream Dictionary:
To see geese in your dream, represents domesticity. You are well grounded.

Even in reality, seeing flocks of birds makes me sad-- I don't know if it's the symbolism of seasons ending or just that I start thinking about those poor tired birds trying to make it to a warmer place.
You have talked about moving. Maybe it is the leaving of your current life, which has been so full and rewarding in this home that is sad.

Speaking of prophetic dreams: Ammo is writing a screenplay with a student from the school of cinema and they actually have someone looking at it next month. His friend had a dream on Dec 19th and sent Ammo an email describing it. Ammo still has it and showed it to me yesterday. In the dream, there was an enormous earthquake and then they sold their script.
Yesterday when the news of the quake came on, the friend called, stunned.
They stayed up all night online working on the script, renewed.
