Tom,

You can't go wrong with a Camry or Accord. I've driven my dad's new Toyota Camry recently and loved it. It darted around the city really well and is good on gas. My sister in law has an Accord and has been happy with it for quite some time. Toyota and Honda cars are dependable, great on gas, and last a long time.

I've owned a Honda Prelude and a Toyota Corolla SR5 in the past and loved them both. They handled extremely well and never stalled on me even during the harshest of Canadian winters. My experience with Japanese cars have been excellent so far.

I gave in and bought a SUV a while back because I did a lot of backroads driving,
needed to pull my fishing boat around, transport music equipment, etc... But this is also a Japanese model. Lol, maybe this Korean-Canadian is turning Japanese!
(Although my ancestors might be angry with me)<g>

Good luck. You will do good with either. And yes, I would take Ogi's advice and buy a used one from a Honda or Toyota dealership (if you can), even if it's one or two years old. Once a value investor, always a value investor.<g>

Here are two websites which might help you make your decision:

edmunds.com

samarins.com

Cheers,
John
