Embarrassing in that first, while all other states had reported, it turned out Washington allows absentee voters to mail their ballots right up to election day, so WA was in the spotlight as the nation waited...

I think only AK & WA do that.

Then, of course, all the quirks in the recounts which I'm sure have already been covered here.

It was surprising to see the election so close, anyway. I thought WA was a very "left" state? The democratic machine must be pretty embarrassed there, although from all appearances they certainly mobilized during the recount process with the door-to-door stuff and making the right moves to win.

"What is more embarrassing to me is how the republicans were saying that if your name begins with A-C your vote doesn't count."

Oh, come now, you're just demonizing the R's with that one. ;-)
