Incorrect about which part of my post? I realize that terrorists now are targeting civilians--in fact they said the other day that they would shoot anyone who even tried to get to a polling place. This insurgency has swelled significantly since September, when the Iraqi Body Count statistics stop.

I do hold the U.S. effort in Iraq responsible for all civilian deaths because we invaded their country and badly mishandled the entire mess. I realize we are not doing all of the killing, but when you go to war you will be held responsible for the consequences. Most of the insurgents did not even exist as such in September. If you read some of the more recent columns I have posted in the last couple of days, what is striking about the strength of the insurgency is that it is so overwhelming, so fast growing, and alliances are being created by groups who had nothing at all to do with each other before. So it is synergistic.
