Own a car? Everyone who consumes oil is responsible for the world's economy being dependent upon ME oil supplies. (Note: In coming decades the world will become heavily dependent upon natural gas from the ME. ) There is no world economic planning commission (thank God) - there is a largely-free world market. When alternative energy supplies like solar energy become economically competitive, things will change. The belief that "evil greedy ones" want us to be dependent on oil and have manipulated events to make that happen is a great example of primitive thinking. Sorry.
