I respect you Laz and can see the point you take. However, you and I are both not spring chickens compared to some who post here and Dan Rather goes way back with me covering lots of history. I had come to appreciate the man and I don't believe in throwing the baby out with the bath water. He was wrong. He was too eager to embellish the RUMORS that were all ready rampant about GW's service record.... (this was nothing new, just supposed to be a confirmation of what was circulating ) and he rushed to judgement... erroneously.. He is not alone in this as CBS's legal department and others are culpable.. I don't want to rehash the whole thing because is is over, done, Rather is retiring and he did apologize. The apology was the only thing I was pointing out. I was asked about who on the left side of the aisle apologize and I gave Rather. Fact is, he did apologize.. That's all I wanted to use as an example. I also pointed out, Clark apologized.. I don't think less of those who do say they are sorry, but more of them... . It's like big men don't cry. I think to cry is to be human. I love humans... HUMAN BEANS that is. May everyone on your thread where I am almost an interloper have a good New Year's Eve and let us all hope for PEACE in the coming year. Barring that, good health to all.
