The illegal and illegitimate nature of the invasion doomed our mission from the start -- it is like building a house without a foundation. No amount of touching up later will create a stable structure. So long as our foreign policy remains the same, we will have no foundation in Iraq and we will be isolated and increasingly irrelevant to the rest of the world.
