Ararat is thought to be where Noah's Ark came to rest. An really interesting historic/fictional treatment of Ararat/Noah's Ark/etc. is Tim Power's "Declare," though you have to keep an open mind as he likes to delve into the fantastic.

Yes. When I was in Turkey it was one of the SIGHTS..SITES to see. I never knew at that time about the plight of the Armenian population. Eliminating one millions persons. I don't know how many the Holocaust eliminated ... anyone know ?
