<<It implies that the plan came from God.>>

I don't think it implies "the plan" came from God. I guess I don't buy that god helps us plan wars. I think he is suggesting that he prayed for inner peace and direction over what to do. Whatever he got he felt was the "green light". Again...I don't think God plans wars and I wouldn't have told people that I asked for advice. But he did and thats ok. We were going to war anyhow and Bush Jr. had the advantage of having Cheney and Powell who both went through Gulf war 1. We still don't know how this thing is going to turn out so I say we reserve judgement until we do. I remember hearing about how Saddams republican guard was going to thrash us in GW1 and it never happened. This has certainly been a larger undertaking and we've lost more lives. But given the size of this action I don't think the number of lives lost is huge....in fact its not big at all. Now had I lost a family member or friend over there the impact might make me feel different. But you have to admit that compared to historic numbers lost in other wars this number is quite low.

And don't take that the wrong way....I'm not minimizing loss of life.
