I recall one of your posts saying that since Solaris 10 is not released this quarters earnings report is mute. I could not agree more. Sun is betting the company on Solaris 10 and I think they have an excellent marketing approach. The only problem is that the product won't be released, for free, until later this month. I have to ask myself how does the current software companies compete with free. The only answer I have is that they don't. Sun, I believe, will forge a new term in tech land and it is going to be called Utility Computing. In this world, you only pay for the service. Sunw's product portfolio is positioned very well for this major shift. When it will take hold is anyones guess but it usually starts with a great product. We will see if Solaris 10 is that product.
