You said that there's a good reason that the U.S. attempt to bring Democracy to the Middle East was the only one.

What reasons do you think?

They're not ready. Its that simple. Even when the Arab world was at its most enlightened, it did not have democracy. Democracy is a western phenomenon that is spreading to other cultures but very slowly.

Each culture comes to democracy on its own.......some sooner, some later. Look at the Ukraine.........its fighting for the right to be free while the Russians are making Putin into a post communist czar. There is not a formula for democracy....its organic....it comes from the people. It MUST come from the people.

Is it because we are the only ones that are good hearted enough to at least give it a shot? Or do you have reasons that are more along the lines of America-bashing?

There is nothing wrong with our goal other than our naiveté and our more selfish motivations.......oil and a ME air base.

As for American bashing, we deserve some of it. We stick our noses in places where it doesn't belong. We assume we know best and we are determined to impose our will and our culture on others. There are many good things about us but they are in the descendant right now.
