I did not exactly say the Irish are undersexed. I said something along the lines of they are not all that romantic. I think all human groups start out with the same sex drive, since we are all the same species, after all. Then culture and religion intermingle and have whatever effects they are going to. My own opinion is that in many, many ways, the effects of Irish Catholicism have been disastrous on the spirit of the Irish. I hope that will ebb as Ireland continues to remove itself from the stranglehold of Catholicism. Certainly there are exceptions to every rule, however. You yourself could read up on the statistics about late marriage among the Irish. I am sure they are available on the net.

It certainly is none of your business, but no, you definitely would not be able to draw the conclusion you are attempting to about Mr. Grainne.

Have you seen the movie The Magdalene Sisters? If so, would you like to discuss it?

Another interesting topic would be why Catholicism seemed to make Irish men shy of women, but had the exact opposite effect on the Italians, for the most part. But these are all generalizations. Perhaps it has something to do not only with the influence of the Church, but with schools and family values? In other words, what is the difference between Irish and Italian culture that operates here? And did the oppression of Ireland by England on top of its Catholicism just become too much to bear? Is that the difference, then?
