It seems like everybody is afraid of the Bush admin... the Dems, the Press, even the good Reps. What's up with that?

The GOP has got everyone running scared. I saw them in action out here during the aftermath of the governor's race. Even knowing what was happening, it was hard not to believe that everyone in the process was corrupted except for the GOP. They made the most insulting comments without batting an eye and accused almost everyone involved of fraud and/or incompetence. You sensed that Karl Rove was behind it all. To the testament of the Dems., they kept putting one foot in front the other while following the law and tried to ignore the garbage that was coming from the GOP. And when big money was needed, the national Dem. party/Kerry stepped up to the plate.

Even with all that, the GOP now is taking the matter to the courts. In a state where partisan politics once was a friendly rivalry, we now reflect the rest of the nation........blue vs red........bitter enemies.

John I agree that everyone is afraid of the Bush team. Not one paper wants to stick out it's neck and the latest debacle at CBS is the clincher. I am angry that they were so careless in not checking the story more carefully with cognizance of what could happen were they to be wrong. Trouble is everyone with any sense knows GW did not show up for his physical and that his papers on the entire story were never released in toto... However, once again there are no Woodward's and Bernstein's around..

WE are sinking into a mire of one sided journalism that is scary. All the governments that controlled the press became dictatorships. Repression of news from the public is just a first step. It's a big concern. So I am with you ...

Look at how pictures of the war are being prevented... not even of the coffins. What is the difference between a government controlled press and free press ? One doesn't get to read all the news that's free to print (or report )..
Remember Walter Winchell ?
