1 - It's smaller - There are many around with similar sizes and they include a very functional display 2 - It's better looking - Very opinion based 3 - It has greater capacity for the price - As I said the only valid improvement, which will help bring other models to same level. Apple is likely not making much profit on this model Maybe more of a loss leader? 4 - The batteries are rechargeable - All flash players have or can easily adapt to this. not an issue, also many have 18 hour run time. 5 - It works with iTunes - Not a big deal. Easy to transfer files. Many autosysnc with CD and have FM radio.
