Slacker, I agree with your interpretation...

...of the shuffle as basically a trimmed down accessory to the iPOD. Maybe they should
have called it iPOD-lite! The fact is, if you have a Mac it was a no-brainer to get an
iPOD because it interfaces so well with iTunes. Also, the original iPOD's had the
feeling of a status symbol of sorts. I have been a little disappointed with battery
life with mine, to be honest. The ease of use, however, was phenomenal.

Also, your comments on flash price points I think is astute. You can get 2 gigabyte CF
for about USD 150 or a little more and 4 gigabyte cards are now under USD 300, so it
is just a matter of time before flash based players will reach the magical capacity.
That may be 4 gigabyte or so. It certainly is not 256 or 512MB, IMHO.
