>>Yes OSX is great but the H/W is mucho expensive when compared.<<

We've been through that question a dozen times around here. When you compare systems from the major manufacturers with similar configurations, Macs really aren't very expensive. The only thing is that Apple hasn't previously offered anything at the low end. Now they do.

People would say, "I can get a PC for 500 bucks, but the cheapest iMac is $1,300." Never mind that the iMac offered a much richer feature set for the money, and that if you configured a PC similarly you'd be right around the same price.

Compare the Mac MIni to the cheapest computer you can find on Dell's web site, and you'll see that it's quite competitive. Then compare the $1,300 iMac G5 to what you can get from Dell at that price point. Again, it's a perfectly reasonable deal.

But perception means a lot, and I will give you this much; most people think of Macs as more expensive.

OrionX. How much is your time worth?

No More Internet for Them

Fed up over problems stemming from viruses and spyware, some computer users are giving up or curbing their use of the Web.

Seems insane to me. Just get a Mac, even if its a few bucks more. Save hundreds of hours of frustration, worry and dispair over lost files.

In the construction business there's a saying "Tripping over dollars to pick up nickles."

Even if you stick with Windows, I can't understand people who don't need to use Explorer but still use it. Firebird is a nicer browser anyway. And Thunderbird is there too. Or Install Linux for free and forget about viruses. Windows is toast.
