tejek, I wish it was all posturing and just a big game for show. However, that is the tragedy of the Middle East. There really are extremists Jews who believe that it is their God given right to live on land in the West Bank. They believe that if they leave that land, they will be going against God. They are every bit as fanatical as the Palestinians are. In fact, one of the Jewish settlers assassinated Yitzak Rabin, which was the man who almost brought peace to the region. I believe there are extremist Jews.......certainly the settlers fit that bill but I also think their politicians may be doing some playing to minimize the pullback. Then again, I may be too cynical. Just remember that it was Sharon as Housing Minister that started the big push into the WB and Gaza in the 1980s. Even expatriate Israelis don't know what Sharon is up to. ted
