Why I was wrong about Iraq

I like that he admits he was wrong and his reasoning behind that rethinking but to maintain the position we must stay the course is ridiculous. I do not think we would get the support of neighboring countries to police Iraq......even if the Iraqis would allow it. The internal turmoil that Iraq is experiencing will continue well into the future and will decide the country's future. The Iraqis need to be allowed to do that on their own and in their own way in the same way we decided our future nearly three hundred years ago.

And we need to make a date when we will withdraw and stick to it.
