"The Painted Word."

Art in the Trashbin

By John Tabin blog

Capping off a weekend in New York, I and my girlfriend stopped at the newly-renovated Museum of Modern Art yesterday. Unsurprisingly, the galleries showcasing late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century works were crowded, while those showcasing later work were nearly deserted....

Well, if I were someone in the government who wanted to announce that we were taking a tough line and had some nasty surprises for the mullahs (to scare them, of course), but didn't want to make this an official public policy statement, what would I do?

I sure hope we don't expect the mullahs to behave like the Soviets during the cold war.

Khrushchev folded in Cuba.
Nearly the entire Soviet Empire eventually collapsed...some of it no doubt due to MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) and NATO.

We brought hundreds of senior and junior Soviet military officers to the US and gave them tours of our nuclear launch sites and even some silos. That scared the pee out of many.
But I doubt the tactic works against religious inspired terrorists who welcome even their own death.

We need a new tactic.
Attack may have to be it...if we cannot get cooperation, and I see little cooperation so far.

Oh Ya. I nearly forgot. Attack is an old tactic.
