That's one interpretation. Another is that when AMD goes from being outsold by 100:1 to 50:1 to 25:1 to 10:1, AMD is on a roll.

Those numbers are for 64-bit enabled Xeons. Opteron used to own 100% of the x86-64bit market. It is Xeon's share that is expanding, not Opteron's.

In any event, I think the estimate of 100K Opteron in Q4 is way too low. I believe there were near 100K servers.
