I think it's just as despicable as the charge against Kerry. Unless there is a pattern that can be established it is meaningless. A pattern would only be a reason to investigate further. Have they ever appointed a black person?

Maybe they should appoint a black republican if they are concerned. Appointments based on abilities are better than based on race. That said there are plenty of able folks of all races.

What you don't want is an able person being passed up for a less able person based on race.
