Well, if you think it's equivalent to a sharp stick, that's your opinion. I think it's a bit more than that. I grant you advances are all big leaps forward, but the ability to destroy a world...now that's really something. Scientists can create new life forms, and they can destroy the world. I'm going continue to think that is fairly God-like. Scientists can send plagues, and rain fire from the heavens to destroy cities- read the old testament, our scientists can get pretty old testament God, imo. Sure, they aren't Jesus... but wait a minute...they can raise people from the dead...cure the leperous...hmmmmmm...
