true. i read a couple of short news items that contained excerpts from yesterday's speech and that just made my blood start to boil, so i'm back to ignoring anything happening south of the 49th. Believe me when I say, it's far better that way.

hi, Croc! You Canadians are odd ducks. :) Years down the road I have finally managed to crack open the books you sent me (that I need to send back, but in my feeble way I am being good, the bookshelf has a little section dedicated to books of Croc not to be lost). The one about the woman who goes off with friends to hunt for her father who disappeared is really striking. It's so southern in its way. The dying litte town... the wierd family... the dislocated speaker. A lot more snow in that story, though. I did find her writing a bit hard to take. I don't do well reading someone who writes in present tense. Cool story, though.
