The current rightwing consensus says simply that anyone who opposes the US is wrong, therefore figuring out what they really want to hear is irrelevant and distracting.

Bush deliberately says he is for freedom, democracy and liberation. Who could oppose that?

The fact that we practice detention without trial, torture, killing civilians in the line of fire and invading sovereign states when it suits us is either irrelevant or justified, in the rightwing view.

Acknowledging the gross contradiction between paragraph 2 and paragraph 3 would undo the rightwing position completely.

And we know that Bush never argues with himself. Heaven forbid.

The religious political nexus just downright scares the Europeans, because they've been there, done that, and had the religious wars to prove it. No wonder they're becoming more and more secular!

I think the Europeans view our government with almost as much alarm as they view the muslim governments- because they can't predict what either religious government will do. What secular person can blame them?

If you go to the Neocon threads they will disagree 100 %

From what I glean Bush is a man of his principles. He does not waiver. He doesn't flip flop...

He is a Leader who we can trust. He says what he means and follows through.

He embodies what American stands for, God and Country.

He is patriotic and he will stand up against unpopular opinion. Since we are the biggest power he doesn't have to answer to anyone. And besides we saved Europe in WW II and they are ungrateful. We are the saviours of the world and they don't appreciate it.

He ignores that stupid U.N. who did that deal on Oil for whatever...

God Bless G.W. Bush..

This is why I am worried.. and will continue to be worried.
He is uncompromising. Thinks he is always right and doesn't want to hear what is unpopular. Just tell me how good it is in Iraq he says. And the Right Wing newspapers, radio talk show hosts keep spinning along with the American Spectator.

AND I might add half of this Country.. God Bless those disillusioned and uninformed people.
