1. NYT today article about coming Hudna. Looks at minimum that hostilities have stopped in the area for awhile. I remain hopeful and have confidence in the two men--Sharon and Mazen. Rhetorical question. If the truce becomes a hudna and then the basis of a permanent solution to the problem, what do the anti-zionists say when Jewish Israel remains and lives in peace with its neighbors? Logical position for anti-zionists would be rejectionist, no??? 2. NYT today. Iraq shiia say no islamic state and clerics who were politically active will remove themselves from seeking power. Iraq's shiaa understand that if iraq is to remain united in some form, something less than a shiaa state is necessary. My additions: Post election, sunnis will be brought into decision making positions even though low turn out in the election and when key sunnis are brought in the al zarquawi, fascist baath coalition will start to fall apart. Again me being hopeful here in difficult circumstances. If somehow iraq works out, do you think GST will commit hari kari?
