I suspect 600K years from now things will indeed be very different. Its the next few 100 that will be really interesting, and of those I suspect the next 50-100 may be the most interesting, and not just because I will be alive for some of them. Population growth, nonrenewable energy consumption, and the environmental situation all have some major issues in that time period.
