I don't understand the fake hermit in the garden. Perhaps you could explain, using simpler words?

Hi cosmic,

re: <<I'm not really ready to live in a cave (are you familiar with the 19th century fad of having a fake hermit in your garden?>>

No I am not, but sometimes I wish I had one for my garden work.. LOL.. Not really..

Moving to a different topic discussed. IMO, we as humans have NO idea what vegetation feels or doesn't feel. Just because they do not have a 'central nervous system' as we define it, how do we know they do not have some other 'feelie' system that works maybe without electrical impulses for example. I don't know.. But I have seen plants in the tropics that curl up immediately when touched by my finger. What about the Venus fly trap?

I think just because we are humans we think we are 'all knowing' about all. Maybe an animal has that same feeling of superiority we do. Maybe so does a weed, I hate to pull in a garden to make room for the carrot to grow, so when it matures, I can pull it silently (to me) screaming from it's home.. I don't know. I just don't know. So all I try to do is treat all living things with respect and reverance to the best of my ability.
