it would be interesting to know... the date of fbi searches should show something... i spect that would have come out in the prosecutions case if he was "mining" fbi info with royer clear back in 99.

I wish the journalists had provided a clearer chronology. I'm still not sure when Royer hooked up with Cleveland, and when Cleveland "introduced" Royer to Elgindy. My impression, which may be wrong, was that Royer wasn't passing on info for very long; maybe for a year, maybe less.

I'd also like to know how the exchange of information was made. Did Royer call Tony, saying "Company X is under investigation; might be a good short"? Or did Tony call Royer explaining why he had suspicions about a company, and then get a callback from Royer later saying the FBI had decided to investigate? I find all this rather odd, as the FBI rarely gets involved with penny stocks.

Tony did short HITT, but as I said before, he wasn't responsible for the research that did in the company and its management.
