I was not analogizing anything to anything. You questioned any form of the ends justifying the means. I gave an obvious and widely accepted example of the ends justifying the means. Thus, we recognize exigent circumstances where we may cause harm in order to forestall a greater harm. And most people invoking it do so at their peril, insofar as they do not know if they will be able to vindicate the claim at trial. Some might not. However, in our jurisprudence, ambiguity is resolved in favor of the defendant (benefit of doubt), so ambiguity ought not inhibit the exercise of the right.
