You know how little kids will push and push and push a parent, to test the limits of their resolve? Welcome to a fun world full of big kids who do that (some big kids- not all- most people on SI are probably actually here for the stocks, and don't do the strange things we sometimes see in the coffee shop.)

As far as I could determine, Jewel felt insulted that I would say true things about the Bush administration and our history of using CIA operatives, and particularly installing the Baathist party and Hussein, already a known assassin, in power in Iraq. I asked him several times for any actual evidence substantiating his position, and he did not provide any. At the same time, he felt obliged to attack me personally for my historically accurate statements. So you put him in the position where he must prove a negative? Is that what you said? Now I did some looking around, and yeah, you can come up with web pages that say the CIA put SH in power. Which was his quibble, not that the CIA was involved with him later or that the US, faced with a choice between the Ayatollah and SH (which, you must admit is an even worse choice that between Bush and Kerry) chose to support Iraq. But those same sources are not what I would consider reputable sources. So you now prove a positive using reputable sources: That the CIA did as you claimed. AND, instead of banning him, you could have taken the honorable path and done just that: produced good evidence to back your claim instead of muzzling him. Instead, apparently unable to handle his continued demand for proof, you banned him. You must be a liberal. That's what they do: preach freedom of speech and practice censorship. against Rambi I went through his profile. Every post on this thread. I see NOT ONE he made to Rambi or mentioned Rambi. I have PMed both he and Rambi asking about any such attacks. I can't comment on this until I hear from them. [NOTE: Jewel has now replied. He denies your charge. Your only problem is you can't handle a discouraging word. The conservatives definitely outnumber the liberals When was that? Two or three months back? Now it it looks like me, you, X, and choosie. I count 3 to 1 against me. so your convenient but inaccurate assertion that I ban people for their political beliefs is garbage. So you keep asserting. What I keep seeing is that the only people who get banned for anything are conservatives. And I can produce insults from YOUR side of the aisle as bad or worse as anything done by us that resulted in no action at all. In fact, I can produce insults YOU YOURSELF threw out.
