Three of al-Zarqawi's lieutenants are now in custody and Iraqi officials claim they're close to arresting terror mastermind Abu Musab al-Zarqawi himself.

Iraq's deputy prime minister said al-Zarqawi's military adviser, an Iraqi, has been arrested.

Earlier in the day, another Iraqi official announced the arrests of two others with close ties to al-Zarqawi, including his chief of operations for Baghdad.

Regarding al-Zarqawi, Iraq's deputy prime minister said, quote, "we are getting close to finishing off al-Zarqawi and we will get rid of him." The Jordanian-born al-Zarqawi heads al-Qaida's affiliate in Iraq.

The militant group has threatened to kill anyone who takes part in Sunday's election.
