VP-

Is it really a piece of cake (easy)?

snot easy but it IS cake...
elaborate and fancy wedding cake.
you need a pastry chef...
actually, two chefs...
one experienced in cgi scripts or XML...
and one experienced in databases and spreadsheets.

Or are you joking?

yes i am.

but as far as the host server handling it,
almost any hosting service (including the one
i recommended last week) offers all the tools
and functionality that you'll need. (but you
may need some additional dbase software)

making a form with CGI scripting is pretty easy.
i'm sure you've seen them on web pages, i.e., the
kind that lets you enter text into boxes and then
there's a button to click to "submit". actually
that's what i'm doing right now to create this
post.

there are free CGI form scripts all over the web
that you can download and modify. free instructions
too.

basically, you create the form, set up the script
on your server in the CGI bin and it will send the
entered data to wherever you designate. that is your
data. then you import the data into a database in
designated fields. the database software, i.e.,
microsoft "excel", can then store and arrange it
in hundreds of different ways... creating forms,
records, reports, etc.

XML may be even be more useful and powerful for you but
i don't know enough about it to discuss it here.

hope this helps. if you want to know more,
your next stop is...

"google".
