<Statue of Bush> Karen, I was having the same thoughts this afternoon as I was digesting/reveling in the news..

Bush Boulevard came to mind<g>..seriously...We have friends/in-laws in Kosovo..Clinton is revered there.. Kosovars named streets after him during reconstruction..one male teen we helped get here during the conflict, had a T-Shirt with the US flag which he wore every day for what seemed like forever..his mom hand-laundering it 'til they could afford a washing machine!..

[edit: I believe getting electricity and clean water to all residents will keep the mayor busy enough before he can think of ornamentals!]

Go purple index fingers! That's the image that will remain etched in my mind for January 30, 2005.

I personally would like to see some kind of Statue erected in Baghdad to recognize America's contribution to the freedom of every Iraqi for self determination. There is NO DOUBT President Bush deserves accolades for his determination, I doubt that it could have been done without him, but somehow I think it ought to be EVEN BIGGER then one individual. Somehow I think it ought to represent ALL OF AMERICA, especially our Armed Forces. Maybe we ought to search for ideas of what that could be, might be fun to discuss it. My recommendation starting out, would be for an American Soldier and Marine holding the hands of an Iraqi child or children, with the image of George Bush smiling down on them. jdn
