"our government ought not spend considerable tax dollars flying captured crimminals back across the border. " Agreed...but the reality of the times are such that even mild treatment of those who mean to physically destroy us provide wedges for those looking for any excuse to blame America....Financial penalties for being caught would help, collecting them with some efficiency is the trick. 3. "far more vigorously enforce current anti-immigration laws, beginning with employers who hire, harbor or in any way protect illegals " Most illegals have some form of documentation...bought and paid for and counterfeit, but documentation just the same...I'm sure there are some "sweatshops" operating in various places, but there has been quite a growth in legal aid offices ready to pounce on employers that fail to follow the guidelines. 4. " No state government ought to encourage illegals by giving them public services of any sort " This, to me, is the biggest difference in immigration now compared to past generations.....With some form of public aid being almost a given, the need to scrap and fight for every inch gained is lacking. I would prefer that the problem was solved through economic improvements...Ireland comes to mind as a place that worked to land investments through tax advantages combined with an eager and available work force....There is a chance our kids will see a more relatively prosperous Mexico and Central America...much of our future depends on it...As long as economic differences are so great, we will have illegal immigration....bullets and/or politicians will not stop it.
