I get a kick out of the "Caution, wild Horse Crossing" signs.

One year my husband and I ended up on the Extraterrestrial Highway while crossing from Utah to Ca. That was an interesting ride..............very desolate but beautiful.

I haven't been to Great Basin and want to go there some day soon.

I miss our old road trips across country...........you see so much from your car. I was just thinking about taking another one soon. My husband wants to go back to Little Bighorn in Montana and I would like to hike up into the Wounded Knee battleground near Rapid City, Wy.

coug,

Re: IT IS NO WASTE LAND as the politicians like to make it.

While Nevada does have scenic beauty, it certainly can't be compared to Iowa or California's Central Valley. As far as agriculture is concerned, you're blowing smoke.

This was written by someone living in Central Oregon's High Desert where we have plenty of beauty, but we live by the curse of living in what gardeners call "Arctic Zone One". I.e. we can have killing frosts 12 months of the year. From the viewpoint of a farmer, much of Central Oregon and much of Nevada are beautiful wastelands. That's just reality. No need to spin this stuff, coug.
