I am all for a mandatory military. It should be everybody's responsibility to give their lives for their country when necessary, not only those lured into it with promises of a higher education and a better life.

Politicians responsible for sending them to die would take that decision much more reluctantly, if they knew their own kids could be the ones to sacrifice their lives.

Do you mean a 5% chance of happening for the draft or invading Iran? I read that the US is planning to send 100,000 more troops to Iraq recently. Sounds like a prelude for attacking Iran.
