Making out like bandits??? Yeah, they're all driving BMWs because they're getting $750/mo.

If the amount you get out is 2x, 5x, 10x, 100x more than you put in, you are making out like a bandid, which was a norm for all people on SS until recently.


What if they were single moms and worked all their lives as hotel maids and barely made enough to keep their family in food and housing? Do you begrudge them if they take out 2x what they put in? Would you rather that they ate cake?

Maybe on a per month basis (though 100X seems beyond belief), but remember that on average, people work for forty-five years and only take out for less than 10.

And yes, there is some income redistribution involved, but with the cap on taxable income, it's not as egregious as you imply -- I'd argue that it SHOULD be steeper, but then again, I'm like a red commie bastard.
