Except that military spending is discretionary spending, not "mandatory spending". It makes sense to me to apply the budget deficit debt to the discretionary side, and when you do military spending becomes a lot larger slice of the debt pie.

But I do agree that it's near to impossible to calculate. Let's just agree that the military portion is understated.
