Kumar, And I was blasted on this thread a year or so ago, for describing SS as "the worlds biggest legal Ponzi scheme".... And you deserved it! Why is it failing? The ratio of workers to retiree's is declining because the baby boomers decided to have less children than FDR's actuaries predicted :-0 Its their own fault and no one likes to see that spelled out. Paradoxically - Dems who pushed the whole idea to start with - support abortion, have few children and now oppose immigration. Their one actuarial positive - they like euthanasia (it reduces medical and pension costs). If we can't change the benefits or the taxes - then we are going to need a lot of babies and/or immigrants - or a mandatory death age. John@kumarmustreturnandpaySStaxes.com
