You've got it exactly backwards. In my post, the Americans were defending themselves against an enemy dedicated to the destruction of Americans. The Americans had no choice but to defend themselves. Blind hatred is never justifiable. The only blind hatred in the Middle East is that of the Arabs and Palestinians against the Jews. I understand the correlation you were making in your post but I am telling you its off. At one time, Israel was the underdog but now its top dawg..........its THE regional superpower. Its the Palestinians who have been screwed over. The Israeli/Palestinian issue will never be resolved until you eliminate the root cause, which is the inculcation of Arab youth into the cult of Jew-hatred. The only Arabs harassing Israel are the Palestinians. They want their freedom and Sharon refuses to give it to them. And I believe the reason is because the West Bank is sitting on a large water aquifer......water that Israel needs. So long as you keep people in refugee camps where unemployment is high and poverty deep, you will have trouble. That's what Israel is doing. Water is gold in the drought stricken ME. Israel will never let the Palestinians get control of that water. And the US is complicit in this game Israel is playing. I believe no matter how well behaved the Palestinians are Israel will not give then control over their own state. And so long as that happen there will be problems. In all of history, its been the withholding of freedom and independence that has led to the most bloodshed. ted

How can your view of the root cause be so one sided? If I came and kicked you out of your house, declared your house to be my homeland, and you lived on the lawn in a tent that I occassionally destroyed, and I regulated your movement around your lawn, and then said you can live on your lawn once you stop bothering my kids, you would be peaceful toward me or you would try to blow my ass up?
