<Hamas does represent Gaza> "I see -- and Honolulu represents the United States -- " Why do you insist on being dumb. You may not like it and hopefully it will not last but gaza is hamas country. And gaza fyi is different from WB/PA. Hopefully things will change for the better and Honolulu will become just a part of the US. Come on GST. You can do better than just argue for arguement sake. Gaza has overa a million people in it. It's not like Honolulu, it's more like the entire South. If Hamas won the sheriff's office in three-quarters of the towns in the entire US South, even you might understand their influence.

Lets assume Hammas doesn't represent the views of the typical Palestinian. Lets assume the typical Palestinian wants peace and some form of two state solution where the Palestinians get land and a state and both sides get peace. If that is to happen than the radicals (not just Hammas) have to be suppresed by the Palestinians themselves. If the Palestinians are going to control an area as a government it becomes their reponsibility to see that it is not used as a staging area for terror. They don't have to be perfect but they have to make a strong honest effort AND be somewhat effective at that effort. If (like Arafat used to claim) the Palestinian proto government can not do anything about the terrorist then the Palestinians can't offer peace in exchange for land and statehood. Tim
