There are many true liberals who are filthy rich. If you think about it, these are the people who can truly afford to be liberal.

Then again, all rich people ought to be "liberal." But of course, that all depends on what your definition of a "liberal" is.

In general, I would say the difference between liberals and the new (talk show brain addled) conservatives is the capacity for empathy.

But that's my humble opinion, as an outside observer.

The used-to-be libs I know for sure changed their orientation and became quite conservative as they grew older and better off.
