In Molly Ivins book, "Shrub" (written when Bush was Gov. of Texas), Bush is second-hand quoted as saying after losing his first run for office because he was beaten by a bible-thumper that he "would never be out-Jesus'd again", and started his evangelicism.

What would be fair to Midland is for alternative energy sources to trump oil forever and Midland to become known only for the Alfred E. Newman Presidential Library.
