It seems as though they are advancing in leaps and bounds day by day.

My mom lived in FL and had a bad back for 15 years because she fooled with Chiropractors for 15 years. Finally found a back surgeon through Medicare. He operated on her about 1985 and she was fine after that. She thought the Doc must have had a direct line to God, because she never had another problem; she died back-pain-free in 1996. I have no idea who the Doc was. She lived in Cocoa Beach at the time and moved to New Orleans to be with her boyfriend after she recovered from the surgery. Apparently there is at least one excellent back Dr out there somewhere. As I recall, he was less than 40 yrs old at the time he operated on my mom. Sometimes the doc's that put out negative impressions of success are doing advance CYA to discourage lawsuits if it doesn't go perfectly. Helps keep malpractice insurance rates down. Can't blame them for that, I guess.

That is basically what my back doctor told me...and he is one of the most respected orthopedic surgeons in Atlanta.
