I'm not saying that Israel is a "bad" ally. I'm saying that they're a "useless" ally. (More exactly, I said that having Israel as an ally was no "practical use".)

This is one of several reasons that Israel is useless as an ally. The others are that they don't have a big army, and the army they have is already busy. Israel, as an ally, matches the old South Africa as far as uselessness goes.

You've already admitted that the US didn't ask Israel for any help in the two recent times our soldiers have been involved in the Middle East. And remember how, under Reagan, that excellent Israeli intelligence saved our soldiers lives in Lebanon? Oh, and then there's the Liberty incident.
