Frankly, I think getting China, Russia and India to contribute forces to a joint peacekeeping force in Iraq along with what we have now, which includes Japan and Pakistan, would take a sea change in the Pentagon and global geopolitics that would dwarf the Sumatran tsunami. (This force is one of Barnett's suggestions.)

He doesn't believe in One World Government. Neither does the Pentagon nor most Americans. That's why we go it alone. But something like a super-power super-Core super-NATO might work.

He says the solution will come from the G-20, and that the Pentagon needs to enable it.

Barnett is looking for "3rd way" solutions. He did the definitive job, IMO, of identifying the problem. Identifying the solution is tougher, because there are so many ways we can get there. Going outside the UN to the G-20, and using Chinese and Indian troops is a good way to go, IMO.

He is a "stir the pot" guy. We will now see if they use his second book to shoot him down. I warned him that they will try.
