I did not interpret this as saying everything is benign. I did however understand it to point out the hypocrisy of the left. Everything is ok as long as the left controls the press. Those that are not leftists must be attacked and driven from the fold. They seem to view non-liberal journalists like black sheep.

I am not as partisan as you think. That means I don't always agree with the Dems. and I do, at times agree with the GOP.....or I should say I used to. The current GOP I don't understand at all. It seems to have forgone its roots and is blazing a new road that does not feel right to me at all.

In any case, I tend to agree with the Dems more than I do with the GOP......however, I am still registered as an independent.

When it comes to statements from the press, I don't look to see if the writer is liberal or conservative. I look to see if the writer is making sense given my knowledge of the subject. Most of what's coming out of the right these days isn't making a lot sense......at least not to me. The rare exception is the NRO; however, they are little too politically shadowed for my blood. Most of the right seems so caught up in their new lease on power that they are blinded by their biases and Bush's mendacity IMO.

The reason that I respect you is that you are more consistent about your beliefs than most on the left. When you see both sides* you realize that one should not criticize their neighbor for having bad smelling feces.

I have no problem endorsing someone no matter their affiliation. For an example, I strongly supported a Republican, Richard Riordan, when he ran for mayor of LA. I voted for him and gave him money. I believed he was the best hope for LA......and he was. I think he would have made a better governor than Arnold.......but not nearly as popular in the Hollywood sense.

*Sometimes it feel like it take a two by four upside your head to get you to see both sides. You have expressed similar sentiments reciprocally.

Not really.........however, where things get tricky are on subjects like Amtrak. I know it loses money and I suspect it always will. Nonetheless, I strongly support it even though I am fiscally conservative. I believe that train travel can be an important alternative to car travel in the US if given half the chance.

However, issues like Amtrak are rare for me.

And I might add.......I find it interesting that you have been banned from leftie threads. Certainly, your presentation is no more radical or abrasive than mine......in fact, less. I guess in these divided times contrary opinions are not well received whether they come gently or rudely.
