I'm not sure I believe the line you mentioned -- sounds like something to keep you from shopping. I almost switched last year -- I did switch the auto -- but didn't want both to go to the same company.

I ask myself what homeowners is for -- well, while I don't have the loan paid off, it is to protect the bank, I guess. Why should I pay top dollar??

Even when I have the note paid off -- I buy insurance for the thing I cannot absorb financially -- something big. The premiums are too darn high when I consider the liklihood of something big -- especially when I compare the liklihood of major damage occuring during an auto accident or some health problem costing the medical folks a bundle.
