"If the WH did a background check on this guy" Apparently they do a pretty thorough background check on the people who get to attend the rallies where Bush shows up. It is very unlikely they did a background check. They were handed a packaged shill, that was all they were interested in. Like astro turfing "interest groups", stage managing campaign rallies with only "approved" attendees, paying pundits to pontificate, making videos with fake news anchors presenting fake news,... This is a disturbing pattern. They might as well be open and have Rove head up the Ministry of Truth. Oh, that's right. Being open isn't really what they are about...
