Dark brown is definitely not a cheez whiz color. Wrap it in a plastic bad and take it out to the trash. It's probably toxic waste now.

I'm sorry you dislike me and my pancakes. We love you, and send you our warmest crispiest butteriest best wishes :-) I have no idea what's up with your husband. People are supposed to be omnivores, not carnivores. Are you sure he isn't really an alien? That would explain much, and not just the diet.

A while back I discovered that a church relatively near my house operates a food bank on Tuesday-Thursday mornings, so that's where I bring stuff that is getting near the expiration date, or that I can't tell the expiration date, although I'd probably pitch the dark brown Cheez Whiz.

Many of the items I donate come from my mother, who loves to shop, and buys all kinds of things she doesn't want, so she gives them to me, and I take the income tax deduction. So far this year, and it's only February, I've donated about $2500 worth of unloved, unwanted stuff, calculated using ItsDeductible software, which I recommend highly. Their comparable prices are much higher than I would have thought, yet they promise to back up the prices if audited.

But they don't have comparable prices for food donated to food banks. I know. I looked. I also looked all over using google, without success. Hard to believe that you can't take a tax deduction for food given to the food bank unless you're in the food business, but maybe nobody else but me ever thought of it.

Anchovies are a staple in our house, and I could put the bamboo shoots into either a salad or a stir fry, but I am sure that some one at the food bank would scarf up the zucchini.

I wonder what the fair market value of an elderly jar of zucchini in sunflower oil is?

Oh man. Not even the Champ of Cheez could endorse that discolored Cheez Whiz.
Cheez Wuz, maybe.
As for the mkt value of zucchini in sunflower oil, drain the jar and keep the oil. It's the valuable part.

obtw LOL re "normal forehead". Have you seen those delightful "caveman" ads for Geico car insurance? Tongue-in-cheek PC.

HWL Rambi!! Maybe it is catching...my pantry needs quite a bit of help as well....You KNOW they are old when the price is stamped on with a rubber stamper, and there is no bar code to be seen....<gg>

Is my pantry a time travel reststop? An intergalactic dumpster? Do you think I could put these things in the Boy Scout Food Drive collection bag without blushing?
